Our community and charity projects

Our projects start with a real community need and create a practical response. Each one is designed to make participation feel possible, then turn participation into confidence, skills, wellbeing and a route back to routine.

Holiday provision

HAF school holiday clubs

The need
Children eligible for free school meals deserve more than a gap in provision when school closes.
What we do
We provide free places, fun activities, food and a welcoming place to spend time with others during the holidays.
The outcome
Positive holiday experiences, belonging, wellbeing and a positive return to routine — with opportunities for re-engagement.

Youth connection

Evening youth projects

The need
Teenagers benefit from welcoming spaces where they can meet friends, learn new skills and feel supported through mental health challenges, including depression.
What we do
Our evening youth projects offer regular activities, new skills and trusted mentors who listen, encourage and support each young person.
The outcome
Friendship, confidence, practical skills and the reassurance of having a positive, trusted adult alongside them.

Charity support

Workshops for vulnerable adults and young people

The need
Vulnerable adults facing isolation, and young people facing barriers to participation, can need a patient, practical way back into learning and community life.
What we do
Our charity workshops offer accessible activities, encouragement and space to build relationships at a pace that feels manageable.
The outcome
Practical skills, confidence, wellbeing and a renewed connection with other people and the wider community.

Learning at home

Home education support

The need
Home-educated children and families under pressure may need structure, practical learning and a route into community activity that works for their circumstances.
What we do
We support families with a flexible blend of structured learning, vocational activity and opportunities to learn alongside others.
The outcome
A positive return to routine, greater confidence, practical skills and more opportunities for connection and progression.

Community learning and adult courses

The need
Adults and local residents, including people vulnerable to isolation, can need accessible learning that feels useful, welcoming and connected to everyday life.
What we do
We deliver community learning and adult courses that make room for practical skills, participation and progression.
The outcome
Increased confidence, wellbeing, practical capability and community benefit that can support a person’s next step.

Volunteers help sustain the work

Our volunteers help raise funds to keep projects running in the community, demonstrating local backing and a shared commitment to sustaining this work.
